"Mathieu Louis-Jean: OL, victim of arbitral errors in Ligue 1"

Mathieu Louis-Jean believes that Olympique Lyonnais (OL) is the team most penalized in Ligue 1 by the errors of the referees. After his team’s defeat against AS Saint-Etienne last Sunday, he declared that OL had felt injured because the referees had not been in their favour. According to him, Lyon is the team that is most handicapped by arbitration decisions in Ligue 1. He also criticized the management of the RAV by the arbitrators, considering that there was a real problem in this area.

During the warm-up before the match between ASSE and OL last Sunday, several Lyon players received coins on them. The game had to be stopped for almost 40 minutes after a Stรฉphanois fan threw a play on an referee. Mathieu Louis-Jean revealed that OL players also received plays during the warm-up. He felt that if a player on his team had been hit, the game would not have resumed.

Mathieu Louis-Jean returned to OL’s defeat against ASSE last Sunday in Ligue 1. He explained that the players played 120 minutes in Manchester on Thursday in the Europa League and returned at 4:30 a.m. on Friday, which certainly contributed to their poor performance on Sunday. However, he reframed his players after the game and estimated that Lucas Stassin’s expulsion after 25 minutes would have changed the course of the game.
