Strengthening the goaltender and summer preparation of the Racing Club of Strasbourg

The Racing Club in Strasbourg is preparing to strengthen its team of goaltenders for the new season. The arrival of 19-year-old young Belgian goaltender Mike Penders is imminent in the form of a loan. This operation is part of a renewal strategy following the departures of Alaa Bellaarouch and Robin Risser, who joined Braga and Lens respectively. The club also aims to find a third guard, in order to structure the hierarchy and ensure a depth of strength. Negotiations with Chelsea, the original Penders club, are advanced, but require the release of seats among players already lent by the English club, including Kendry Paez and Mathis Amougou.

The goaltender team’s composition for next season is beginning to emerge. Karl-Johan Johnsson, 35 years old, should retain his number 2 position, while the club is actively looking for a replacement for number 3. A permanent transfer solution is preferred for this position. The option of a loan from Filip Jorgensen, Chelsea’s number 2 custodian, was ruled out, according to Team. This situation underlines the importance for Racing to secure its future in this key sector of the field.

To prepare for the season, the Racing Club in Strasbourg scheduled an internship in Austria from 28 July to 2 August. This course will include two friendly meetings, one against Heidehheim on Saturday 2 August at 3 pm in Jenbach. This game will allow the club to test its new recruits and become familiar with the Austrian terrain, where he had already trained the previous summer. Heidehheim, 16th in the German championship, will also be intern in the same region, offering an interesting opportunity for a quality friendly match.
