Reinforcement defensive OM Perraud serious track in view

The Olympique de Marseille is actively pursuing the strengthening of its defensive force during the mercato. After the arrival of CJ Egan-Riley and Facundo Medina, the Marseille club explores new tracks for the left corridor. The name Romain Perraud, side of the Bétis Seville, resurfaces as an interesting option. Although OM now has Medina, able to evolve to several positions, the future of Quentin Merlin remains uncertain. The former Nantais, after a successful Euro Espoirs, attracts the attention of English clubs, so a departure is not to be excluded, encouraging the Marseille club to anticipate.

The profile of Romain Perraud, aged 27, is again considered by OM. The former Niçois had a full season with the Bétis (41 matches all competitions) and had a solid experience also gained in Southampton in the Premier League. Discussions are currently under way between Marseille and Seville on a possible transfer, as Fichajes reports. OM could propose an exchange to reduce the cost of the operation, after already losing Pau Lopez.

The Bétis Seville would not oppose a departure from Perraud, especially with the upcoming arrival of Junior Farpo. The case is therefore pending and could accelerate if an English club made a concrete offer for Merlin. This situation is part of a wider context of movements within OM, along with other ongoing mercato issues, such as the Weah track and rumours about Baleard. The evolution of these various files remains to be closely monitored.
