Lyon against Nantes: Montemurro opts for a redesigned team

Like Sonia Bompastor last season, Joe Montemurro made the choice to line up almost fully his reserve team on Wednesday (21h) in Nantes. If this decision does not have a sporting impact on the fairness of the championship, it could ever challenge OL’s invincibility this season.

With a First League Taking match between two Champions League confrontations, the Australian coach’s choice is understandable. The real rendezvous of the week will take place on Sunday at the Parc OL against Arsenal, without disrespect in the Canary Islands.

For this penultimate meeting of the regular season, OL will come with a completely redesigned team. Inès Benyahia and Vicki Becho almost serve as ancients alongside Sofia Huerta, Laura Benkarth, Sofie Svava and Sara Däbritz.

If we could hope that the trip to the Loire-Atlantique would allow Wendie Renard to regain momentum in view of the half return against Arsenal, it would not be so. The captain will have to wait to celebrate her 500th with OL.
