Reconstruction of the ASSE and renewed popular enthusiasm

The AS Saint-Étienne is in the midst of reconstruction, with a clear desire to renew its workforce for next season. The leaders, who arrived with a cost-relief financial strategy, got rid of players whose performance was deemed insufficient, thereby achieving significant savings. This rationalization policy continues, with the anticipation of many departures and a particular focus on securing key players. The goal is to build a strong team, with a spine of executives able to perform in the long term, while integrating young talents from the training centre.

At the same time as this reorganisation of the workforce, ASSE is experiencing a growing enthusiasm on the part of its supporters. The subscription campaign for the 2025-2026 season is particularly successful, with a significant number of new subscribers demonstrating renewed confidence in the Ligue 1 climb project. The termination rate is extremely low, indicating strong popular membership. The subscription offer, adapted to all profiles, includes exclusive advantages such as in-store discounts, access to the museum and the ASSE.TV platform, as well as access to the women’s team matches.

The team is actively preparing for the Ligue 2 season, with a schedule of early August matches including home matches against Rodez, Ajaccio and Grenoble, as well as a trip to Laval. The enthusiasm is palpable, and the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium should be well filled. The ASSE seems determined to cut with the previous cycle and build a solid future, relying on a mix of experienced players and promising young talent, under the direction of Eirik Horneland.
