After a difficult season in the Forez, Yvann Mason attracted the attention of the FC Servette. The right side of the ASSE seems closer and closer to a start this summer. Arrived in January 2020 from Dunkirk, Mason experienced periods of success and difficulties in the colours of Stéphanois. Initially seductive by its explosiveness and its ability to project itself forward, he was then confronted with the relegation of the ASSE in Ligue 2, a period sportfully complicated and marked by hostility on the part of some supporters, especially after incidents and polemic statements. Successive loans to Paris FC and Maccabi Netanya in Israel enabled him to regain momentum, but his return to Saint-Étienne in January 2024, under the leadership of Olivier Dall’Oglio, seemed to announce a new momentum, making him again a key element of the team.
However, the positive dynamics of Mason were short-lived due to many physical problems during last season. Judged in lack of regularity and restrained by injuries, he was removed from the occupational group early in the week and left the internship in Aix-les-Bains to train with the reserve. This decision, taken by the Norwegian technician, indicates that the ASSE no longer relies on him for the 2025-2026 season. In this context, a start seems inevitable for the 25-year-old, attracting interest from several clubs. The Servette FC, competing in the preliminary round of Champions League, appears as a serious track, wishing to strengthen its right flank with a fast and experienced player.
According to the team, discussions have already started between the Geneva club and the Stéphanois leaders. Although the ASSE extended its contract early in the season, an extension that has not been formalized, it should not oppose its departure, especially since the player wants a new challenge in a more soothing environment. As the mercato progresses, the future of Yvann Mason moves away from Saint-Étienne, and his adventure in the Chauron is probably coming to an end. If negotiations with the CF Servette are going well, the Stéphanois club should not oppose its departure.
