Today, UEFA revealed the amounts paid to European clubs for the provision of their international players in major competitions (Euro and League of Nations) between 2020 and 2024. The LOSC has received nearly €500,000. This practice is a long-standing practice: every time a player is called in to compete in a major competition, his club receives financial compensation. It is a joint arrangement between the UEFA and the ECA, which today revealed the amounts paid between 2020 and 2024. In total, for a period of two editions of the League of Nations and the Euro 2024 and its qualifying phase, 233 million euros were distributed among 901 clubs from 55 different countries. This amount is 33 million euros higher than the previous cycle.
Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, President of ECA, welcomed this initiative, which recognizes the vital role of clubs in the sustainable success of national football through the development, engagement and availability of players. He also stressed that national team football promotes the development of clubs and their communities.
Of the €233 million paid, 27 French clubs recovered 11.9 million. The LOSC recovered EUR 479 459, the seventh largest amount in Hexagon. Each club receives an equal share for each player made available for a UEFA Nations League or European Qualifiers match and a fixed amount per player per day during the final phase, adjusted for the FIFA category of the club in relation to the training allowance.
Paris Saint-Germain was best paid with €4.425 million, followed by Monaco (€1.234 million) and Stade Rennais (€1.062 million). The RC Lens (992 691 euros), the Olympique de Marseille (598 837 euros), the Girondins Bordeaux (525 657 euros) the FC Lorient (394 723 d€), the Olympique Lyonnais (381 956 d€), the Toulouse FC (376 428 euros) and the Nice GOC (356 633 euros) follow suit.
