OM works to strengthen summer workforce

According to RMC Sport, Olympique de Marseille is about to strengthen its workforce with the imminent arrival of Hamed Junior Traoré. The Phocéan club reached an agreement with Bournemouth for a loan with almost mandatory purchase option of 7.5 million euros, potentially up to 15 million euros depending on the bonuses. This 24-year-old Ivorian offensive milieu, after a successful season at AJ Auxerre, convinced OM to rely on it to bring creativity and percussion to the attack. After some administrative details, Traoré should arrive in Marseille within 48 hours to finalize his arrival and pass the medical check, if there is no setback.

Five days before the end of the summer mercato, OM aims to finalize up to five new recruits, under the direction of Pablo Longoria and Mehdï Benatia. The arrival of the left side Emerson Palmieri, currently in West Ham, is imminent thanks to an ongoing contract termination. The Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos is also on the list, with advanced discussions with Real Madrid regarding a loan with option of purchase of about 15 million euros, although he refused OM according to AS. The amount of the transaction for Traoré, estimated at 18 million euros, remains a complex negotiating point with competition from other Ligue 1 clubs.

Finally, Ecuadorian central defender Joël Ordóñez, a member of the Brugge Club, is also targeted by OM, but the Belgian club hesitates to let him leave despite an offer of 30 million euros. The Kosovar winger Edon Zhegrova, currently in Lille, is also monitored, but the Juventus is a serious competition, with financial obstacles still holding up the operation. OM is therefore on track to strengthen its workforce, with the likely arrival of Emerson Palmieri and the loan of Dani Ceballos. However, the Traoré, Ordóñez and Zhegrova files still require negotiations to offer Roberto De Zerbi a competitive workforce for the coming season, while taking into account the departures of players like Moumbagna, Maupay and Ounahi.
