OM internal tensions defensive reinforcement and future of Harit

The Olympique de Marseille is going through a troubled period, marked by internal tensions and important decisions regarding its workforce. Adrien Rabiot, initially presented as a key player in Roberto De Zerbi’s project, was placed outside the professional group following an altercation with Jonathan Rowe. This situation is part of a firm policy of the Marseilles management, which no longer wants to let the player go for free and is ready to keep him under contract without playing time if the sale price set at 15 million euros is not reached. De Zerbi himself expressed a lack of investment on the part of the field community, a criticism deemed unacceptable by his entourage. This situation raises questions about Rabiot’s future at OM, with a possible start in sight, with Milan AC being particularly interested.

At the same time, the club focuses on strengthening its defensive sector. OM is actively pursuing discussions with Club Bruges to recruit 21-year-old central defender Joel Ordóñez. Negotiations are moving forward, although Bruges is asking for a substantial amount of about $34 million to free the player. OM considers Ordóñez a priority target because of the team’s current defensive weakness and its sports director, Mehdhi Benatia, affirmed its intention to close the operation quickly. Ordóñez, however, was eager to leave Bruges to advance his career and saw OM as a serious option.

Finally, the summer mercato is coming to an end and OM remains attentive to the opportunities for movement, particularly in attack. Moroccan international Amine Harit could be tempted by an Al-Diraiyah offer in Saudi Arabia, which seeks to strengthen its offensive sector with experienced players. Although Harit does not seem to be excited by this idea at the moment, the interest of the Saudi club underscores the player’s value and could offer OM financial flexibility for other operations. The future of Harit remains uncertain, but the Marseille club remains open to new changes to balance its workforce before the end of the mercato.
