Trained at AS Gardanne, Bernard Pardo began his professional career in Boulogne before joining Lille and then the Stade Brestois where he began to make a name with 192 matches between 1980 and 1985. Claude Makélélé began his professional career in Brest in 1990, quickly being noticed for his tactical discipline and impressive recovery qualities. After the liquidation of the club in 1991, he joined Nantes where he competed 205 games between 1992 and 1997. After a more than successful passage along the Loire River, he joined Olympique de Marseille in 1997. Under the Olympian jersey, he made only one season (1997-1998) with 36 appearances. Subsequently, the Kinshasa native built a huge career, both as a club and as a team from France, including successful passages in Real Madrid and Chelsea.
Still unknown to the general public after passages in Boulogne and Alès, Franck Ribéry passed by Brest during the 2003-2004 season, in the National. Remarked for his talent and passion, he then signed to Metz in 2004, and soon joined the Olympique de Marseille in the winter of 2005 after a short visit to Galatasaray. At OM, Ribéry confirmed his potential: in a season and a half (2005-2007), he competed 89 games for 18 achievements and inflamed the Vélodrome with his dribbles, vivacity and determination. He contributed to two consecutive French Cup finals and became one of the best young French players before heading to Bayern Munich, where he became a legend.
