"The Loire Brigade denounces the hypocrisy of sanctions in the world of French football"

The Loire Brigade, a group of FC Nantes supporters, used the sanctions imposed on two LOSC players for conduct deemed inappropriate during the Northern Derby as a pretext to denounce the differences in treatment between fans and players in the French football world. At the Paris Saint-Germain reception on Tuesday 22 April at the Stade de la Beaujoire, the Canaris deployed banners to express their dissatisfaction with what they consider a hypocrisy on the part of professional football bodies.

The two players in question, Lucas Chevalier and Bafodé Diakité, were sanctioned by a suspended suspension game by the Discipline Commission of the Professional Football League for using pyrotechnic devices during the celebrations that followed the OLSC’s victory against RC Lens. However, according to the Nantes supporters, if these two players had been supporters rather than professional players, they would have received a lump sum fine and administrative stadium bans.

The Loire Brigade decided to seize this situation to draw attention to the differences in treatment between fans and players in the French football world. By using banners with messages such as “LFP/Forum: HYPOCRISIE”, they wanted to send a strong message to the French football authorities, believing that there was a blatant injustice between the sanctions imposed on supporters and those imposed on professional players.
