Summer preparation of OM 2025/26 started

Monday, July 7, 2025 marks the beginning of the summer preparation for the Olympique de Marseille. After a seven-week break, non-international players came to the Robert Louis-Dreyfus Center for physical and medical testing, reporting the official launch of the preparation for the 2025/26 season. This recovery comes after a notable victory against Rennes on 17 May, followed by a non-qualification in the Champions League, and precedes the announcement of new jerseys, a subscription campaign and the Ligue 1 calendar. The team confirmed this resumption on its official website, stressing the importance of the first medical tests to assess the fitness of each player.

The preparation will intensify from Thursday with the first group training sessions under the direction of Roberto De Zerbi. The programme includes an internship in the Netherlands, as well as several friendly matches, including two meetings scheduled in Andorra and Spain on 26 and 29 July. This preparation period is also marked by movement within the workforce. Six professional players could leave the club during this summer mercato, including Simon Ngapandouetnbu, Ruben Blanco, Bamo Meïté, Ismaël Koné, Azzedine Ouahabi and Faris Mumbagna. The arrival of internationals A, like Adrien Rabiot and Amina Gouiri, is expected Friday, while the players who participated in Euro Espoirs will join the team on Monday.

In parallel with these movements, OM has already registered three new recruits: Facundo Medina, CJ Egan-Riley and Angel Gomes. Several players left the club, including Luis Henrique, M’Bamba, Luiz Felipe, Bennacer and Dedic, and other players returning from loan are also likely to leave. The club still has to fill four positions, including a central defender, a side, a left winger to compete with Greenwood and an attacker able to relieve Gouiri. L’Olympique de Marseille is actively preparing for the 2025/26 season, with a recruitment and development strategy aimed at strengthening its workforce.
