The surprise victory of the OGC Nice (1-3) in the reigning French champion, the PSG, was not the taste of OL who hoped to see the Parisians lose points before their match against Rennes. Undefeated since the beginning of the season, the PSG had to give up the arms against the Aiglons, leaving the Lyons on the tile in the podium race. The three points at stake this weekend at OL Park are therefore more essential than ever for OL, who are in fourth place with 51 points, while Rennes, currently 10th with 38 points, is too far from European places.
Paulo Fonseca, Lille’s coach, said that the Rennes team was of quality and progress, but that she had no real stake this season after falling behind in the race at the European Places. Julien Stรฉphan was replaced by Jorge Sampaoli before he was dismissed and replaced by Habib Beye. Since the arrival of the new coach, there have been three best wins in the last four games.
