After the failure of the negotiations for Conrad Harder, Stade Rennais again plans to recruit Lucas Staassin (ASSE) and Breel Embolo (AS Monaco). The Breton club, after recruiting Harder in the hope of finding a second scorer after Estebán Lepuault, seems to want to explore other tracks to reinforce its attack during the end of the mercato. According to Ouest-France, the Rennes would like to relaunch discussions with ASSE for Staassin, but it remains to be seen whether the Stéphanois will be willing to accept this offer. At the same time, Stade Rennais could also try to convince Breel Embolo, a player who wants to leave Monaco and which the Monegasque club hopes to sell soon.
Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique de Marseille and AS Monaco are guaranteed to earn significant income thanks to their qualification for the league phase of the Champions League. The new competition formula, which has been in force since last season, guarantees a considerable amount of money to qualified clubs, regardless of their course in the chicken phase. According to Football Meets Data, the PSG is expected to earn EUR 63 million, while OM and AS Monaco will receive at least EUR 44.8 million and EUR 40.5 million respectively. These amounts are supplemented by premiums related to TV rights and UEFA rankings, and could increase depending on the results and ranking in the 2025-2026 league phase.
In terms of transfers, AS Monaco should pursue a movement policy, both in terms of departures and arrivals. Wilfried Singo’s transfer to Galatasaray has been detailed, with an allowance of EUR 30.77 million, plus added value bonuses and an annual salary of EUR 4.8 million. Agreements are under way for the arrival of Eliees Ben Seghiir (Bayer Leverkusen) and Myron Boadu (PSV Eindhoven). Monaco is also exploring ways to strengthen its workforce, including Axel Disasi (Chelsea) and Tiemoüé Bakayoko, although Chelsea prefers a permanent transfer while Monaco is considering a loan. Stanis Idumbou (FC Seville) could join the Monegasque club for 10 million euros, and Monaco would have made an offer of 20 million euros for Louis Leroux (Nantes), refused by the Nantes club. AS Monaco will face Club Brugge at its first hen phase meeting, scheduled between 16 and 18 September.
