Now, a player will automatically be suspended after having accumulated five yellow cards, regardless of the 10-game period. This new rule, applicable in Ligue 1, Ligue 2, at the Champions Trophy and in the Coupe de France, aims to strengthen the discipline and deter players from being too reckless. Olympique Lyonnais, known for his discipline in the previous season, was spared this rule, although some players like Duje Caleta-Car have accumulated a significant number of yellow cards. Others, such as Nicolas Tagliafico, have been suspended following the accumulation of these cartons.
