Monaco faces Inter Milan in a friendly match before Ligue 1

AS Monaco announced its last friendly match before the start of League 1, a long-awaited confrontation against Inter Milan, Europe’s vice-champion. This match, which will take place at the Louis II Stadium on Friday 8 August at 8 pm, recalls the prestigious evenings of the Champions League. This is the last preparatory test for the Monegasque team before the re-opening of the competition, scheduled for Saturday, August 16 against Le Havre AC. This match is all the more significant as the two teams have already met the season in the Champions League, with a 3-0 defeat for Monaco.

This pre-season was rich in experiences for AS Monaco, with a total of eight friendly games played. The calendar includes meetings against Circle Bruges, Coventry City FC, Nottingham Forest, Armina Bielefeld, Torino FC and Ajax Amsterdam. These games allowed the club to test different team compositions and prepare for the challenges of the upcoming season. The results of these meetings demonstrate active preparation, including three clean sheets in the first games.

The recent arrival of Kamil Glik and Wiilfried Singo, followed by the recruitment of Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, has enriched the training programme of AS Monaco. The two upcoming confrontations against the Torino FC, 11th in Serie A the previous season and of which Guillermo Maripan is evolving, add an additional dimension to this pre-season. This friendly match against Inter Milan represents a major challenge for the Monegasque team, which will seek to confirm its progress and to prepare at best for the recovery of League 1.
