The mediation between DAZN and the LFP led to a significant breakthrough in the negotiations on Ligue 1 broadcasting rights. According to sources close to the file, the new Managing Director of LFP Media is about to reach an amicable agreement with BeIN SPORTS to terminate the current contract by the end of the season.
In this context, BeIN SPORTS would have agreed to give up the only match of the day (out of the nine) that it currently broadcasts, in order to allow a more coherent and complete offer of League 1. Several options are under consideration to reach agreement satisfactory to all parties.
It would appear that the request of EUR 573 million made by the current broadcaster for “observed breach” and “deceit on the goods” is no longer relevant, even if no official information has been provided on this subject.
