The Women’s Racing Club in Strasbourg strengthened its staff with the arrival of Portuguese international defender Bruna Lourenço, who signed a two-year contract. Originally from Faro, this 26-year-old player already has a remarkable experience, notably with Sporting Lisbon where she won the Portuguese championship in 2018 and finished vice-champion on several occasions. She also played seven Champions League games with Celtic Glasgow and was selected as a team from Portugal, making her the first Portuguese player to join the Racing team.
This signature comes just after the arrival of other attackers, Ananee Yeboah and Eseosa Aigbogun, highlighting a strengthening phase of the Alsatian team. These three new recruits are added to a series of player movements during the summer mercato. In June, eleven players had extended their contracts, and three new recruits (Manssita Traoré, Grace Kazadi and Célia Bensalem) had been formalized.
These moves are part of a significant turnover, with fourteen players starting at the end of the 2024 season. The strategy of the Racing Club in Strasbourg therefore seems to focus on the modernization of its team for the coming season, integrating new skills and maintaining a core of experienced players. The arrival of Bruna Lourenço is a major asset for the defensive strength of the team.
