OL reserve struggles to prepare its trip to London against Fulham
Lyon’s Olympic reserve had a tough evening on Friday night, winning a 1-0 defeat against the Union Football Macon. While the trip to London and the Premier League International Cup final were already in the background, the game against the UF Maconnais seems to have diverted the attention of the team.
Despite a necessarily heavy trip for some tactical choices, OL’s reserve was intended to prepare its trip to London at best with a victory, their fourth straight in the championship. However, they met a tough opponent, the UF Maconnais, who put the players of Gueรฏda Fofana in trouble.
The exclusion of Irvyn Lomamies, at the 30th minute for a fault in the position of last defender, marked a turning point in the encounter. After this event, the UFM took the lead, scoring a 72nd minute goal thanks to Lรฉo Bouchet.
The performance of the reserve, which had been successful in recent weeks, was tarnished by the missed penalty of Alejandro Gomes Rodrigues, who could have put OL on a tie.
This defeat could mean the end of the reserve’s hopes for the rise in National 2. With a possible defeat of Lyon-La Duchรจre against Seyssinet this Saturday, OL could lose their place as a dolphin in favour of their Burgundy neighbour.
