At the ASSE - Rodez meeting on 16 August, the Green Angels, a group of Stéphanois supporters, organize a collection of school supplies for children in need. This initiative, which has become a tradition within the club, is part of a broader desire to support the poorest, like the charitable actions of the Magic Fans. Fans are invited to deposit supplies such as notebooks, pens, kits and backpacks in front of the doors of the South Kop before the game. Donations will then be redistributed to local associations working for children and education, highlighting the club’s solidarity commitment. This is particularly important in the context of the return to school and persistent inflation, which eases the financial burden on the most affected families.
The organization of the meetings in Geoffroy-Guichard is a carefully prepared logistical and human device. As of the summer season, all operational, technical, security and hospitality services are mobilized to coordinate the various actors involved. A seasonal guide is developed to ensure an understanding of each person’s roles and instructions. Prefecture meetings are held before each match to assess the risks and adapt the organisation, with more frequent meetings in case of a sensitive match. Internal coordination is also provided by ASSE with a match file shared with all stakeholders.
On the day of the match, a team of 1500 people is working to ensure the smooth running of the event. TV technicians install the capture device, while security officers set up the gates around the stadium and parking lots. Saint-Étienne Métropole also intervenes to prepare the ground and verify the conformity of the installations. After the final whistle, an evaluation is carried out to identify possible difficulties and to draw up an action plan. A survey is also carried out with the Métropole to discuss the improvement axes for the upcoming meetings.
