In the run-up to the championship, the LFP officially presented its new channel, Ligue 1+. This platform, managed by LFPMedia, aims to ensure increased visibility of Ligue 1 following the end of contracts with traditional broadcasters. According to Nicolas de Tavernost, president of LFPMedia, the name “Ligue 1+” was chosen for its simplicity and memorization, stressing the importance of the Ligue 1 brand. As of August 15, the channel will feature eight live games per day, with the nineths broadcast delayed, as well as two analysis magazines on Saturday and Sunday. The shock match between Nantes and the PSG, scheduled for 17 August, will be exceptionally aired in plain language.
This new channel represents a guarantee for fans of Olympique de Marseille (OM) to be able to follow every meeting of their club, often programmed in prime time. Although the channel does not have exclusive rights to the Sunday night game, OM should be broadcast frequently on Ligue 1+. The monthly subscription is offered at 14,99€ with a one-year commitment, or 19,99€ without commitment. A special offer of €9.99 per month is also available for children under 26, accessible on mobile, tablet and computer. Ligue 1+ will be accessible via the main operators (Orange, SFR, Free, Bouygues) and on the DAZN platform, as well as in OTT, offering direct access without requiring an internet service provider.
League 1+ will highlight famous personalities such as Xavier Domergue, Marina Lorenzo, Smaïl Bouabdellahou, Benoît Cheyrou, former OM player who became a consultant. The channel will also offer two weekly magazines on Saturday and Sunday. With an estimated investment of 66 million euros, LFPMedia hopes to attract at least one million subscribers by the end of the season, an ambitious but crucial bet for the valorisation of the French championship.
