Strasbourg dominates summer mercato with 80 million euros

The Racing Club in Strasbourg is the most expensive club in Ligue 1 during the summer mercato, with an investment of more than 80 million euros since the acquisition of Joaquin Panichelli. This amount far exceeds that of Olympique de Marseille (34 million euros) and RC Lens (32 million euros), while Paris Saint-Germain remains at zero. This dynamic is explained by the financial resources strengthened by its owner BlueCo and by new European ambitions, pushing the Strasbourg club from a position relegated to a top of the rankings. Major expenses include the arrival of Mathis Amougou, Joaquin Panichelli and the lifting of Valentin Barco’s purchase option, under the chairmanship of Marc Keller.

Olympique de Marseille ranks second with 34 million euros spent, followed by RC Lens with 32 million euros. L’Olympique Lyonnais, although having resources, is not in the lead due to regulatory constraints of the DNCG. Paris Saint-Germain, for its part, has favoured the stability of its workforce and has not made any significant transfers at the moment, although a possible arrival of Lucas Chevalier du LOSC is envisaged for 40 million euros.

Along with these mercato movements, Olympique Lyonnais has demonstrated remarkable team cohesion, sharing many moments of conviviality. Recently, the club released a fun video showing the integration of the new recruits, Ruben Kluivert and Afonso Moreira. For his part, Nemanja Matic expressed his admiration for Alexandre Lacazette, who left OL for the NeoM SC. This message reflects the positive atmosphere in the Lyon team during the previous season.
