Saint-Étienne takes advantage of Lyon at Geoffroy-Guichard, but the game is interrupted
Saint-Étienne took the advantage over Olympique Lyonnais** on the 30th day of Ligue 1, played this Sunday at the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium. The Greens led 1-0 at the time of the game interruption, just before half-time, following an unusual incident.
The game started in an electric climate. The Stéphanois supporters, in large numbers, immediately created a sustained atmosphere, brandishing totifos and using fumigants at the entrance of the players. This mobilization resulted in a delay in the kick-off.
The AS Saint-Étienne opened the score at the 10th minute thanks to a perfect center of Leo Petrot and a victorious head of Lucas Stassin, who stood out among the Lyon defenders.
However, the festive atmosphere was broken by an incident. A Stéphanois supporter threw a piece on the lawn, which accidentally hit the assistant referee, Mr. Letexier. The referee immediately interrupted the match, and it is not yet known whether the match will resume.
The Olympique Lyonnais, despite the defeat, had nevertheless begun the encounter with some domination. The pressure exerted by the Stéphanois supporters, however, had a significant impact on the match.
