Tuesday’s meeting between Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa, although marked by difficulties on the ground for Parisians, also created an unfortunate situation for a young supporter of the club. As the members of the Collective Ultra Paris returned home after the match, Maël, 13 years old, accompanied by his father and a friend, was deprived of the opportunity to share this return to France. The young boy, having crossed the Channel to support his team in the quarter-final return of the Champions League, saw his joy of supporting short duration, following his expulsion by the security services after a spontaneous celebration following the first Parisian goal.
According to the testimony of Maël’s father, the incidents began during the celebration of the PSG’s first goal, as the young boy rose to share his enthusiasm, which required an intervention to bring him back to his place. Despite this first remark, the situation became worse at half-time, when nine security officers informed the small group that the presence of French supporters sitting alongside the English supporters was prohibited. Maël’s emotion, visibly upset, was exacerbated by this expulsion, revealing a tense and unexpected atmosphere in the stadium.
Faced with the misadventure experienced by the young supporter, FC Nantes took a commendable initiative by contacting his father to offer him seats for the match between the Canaris and Paris Saint-Germain the following Tuesday. This gesture, demonstrating the solidarity between French clubs, aims to offer Maël a new opportunity to live a positive experience and to alleviate the painful memory of her expulsion, even if it cannot completely erase the incident.
