LOSC: The defenders, stars of the goals in Ligue 1

The LOSC is more determined than ever in the final straight line of the championship, and can count on both its attackers and its defenders to score goals. Indeed, they are the most successful in Ligue 1 in this capacity. In their last outdoor match against Angers, the LOSC experienced difficulties in the last 30 meters, with ineffective attacks despite the good passes of Ismaily and Thomas Meunier on the wings. Finally, Alexsandro opened the game on a free kick, flying higher than everyone else (45+1’), allowing his team to win the 0-2 game. This achievement is the twelfth for a Lille defender this season in Ligue 1, a record in the elite.

Hakon Haraldsson, interviewed about the effectiveness of LOSC defenders at a press conference, explained that this was due to their being allowed to participate actively in the game and to climb high, allowing the team to be more present in the surface. The stopped kicks are also played thoroughly, as Bafo’ Diakité showed who almost scored against Auxerre.

Bruno Genesio also stressed the importance of the contribution of defenders in the attack, including Thomas Meunier and Ismaily, who were trained in more offensive positions. He also highlighted the qualities of Bafodé Diakité on the stopped kicks.

The LOSC will therefore need once again its defenders next Sunday to receive the Olympique de Marseille, which could be the key to success against the opposing cages.
