MHSC is actively pursuing the restructuring of its workforce, marking a new chapter in its development. The team continues its policy of decongestion during the summer, following the route set by Jordan Ferri’s departure to Italy. Following this divestiture, the club also released Falaye Sacko, a player who had played an important role on the team. The latter, whose contract expired in a year’s time, chose to engage with the Neftçi PFK, a club based in Azerbaijan.
The Malian legal defender, with 42 selections and 2 goals, signed a two-year contract with an option for an additional year, binding him to the club until 30 June 2027. Sacko had been operating in Montpellier since the summer of 2022, after being initially loaned to Vitória Guimarães. He was finally recruited by the MHSC in 2023 for a sum of 1.5 million euros.
During his passages with Montpellier, the 30-year-old played 72 games in all competitions, contributing with a goal and five assists. This transfer marks a new stage in the career of Falaye Sacko, who will discover his sixth professional country after playing in Guinea, Belgium, Hungary, Portugal and France. This start represents an opportunity for the Neftçi PFK and a new challenge for the player.
