"OL: Rayan Cherki and Lucas Perrin named at the UNFP Awards"

Two OL players named at the UNFP Awards

Olympique Lyonnais (OL) is represented by two of its players at the upcoming UNFP Awards. Rayan Cherki and Lucas Perrin were selected for this prestigious ceremony that rewards the best of men’s football.

Rayan Cherki, OL offensive, is named in the “Best Player of the Season” category. With 10 assists and 8 goals in 27 championship games, he won as a key element of the team. His technical talent and impressive dribbles earned him this appointment.

He will face other players such as Désiré Doué, Ousmane Dembélé, Ashraf Hakimi and Vitinha at the ceremony to be held on May 11 in Paris.

For his part, Lucas Perrin, Brazilian goaltender of the Gones, is named in the category “best goaltender of the season”. With 9 clean sheets and exceptional stops, he was able to convince the votes of the players and coaches. He will face Lucas Chevalier (Lille), Geronimo Rulli (OM), Gianluigi Donnarumma (PSG) and Dorde Petrovic (Strasbourg).

Antoine Kombouaré’s uncertain future in Nantes

Despite the almost assured retention in Ligue 1, Antoine Kombouaré’s future on the bench of FC Nantes remains uncertain. President Waldemar Kita would particularly appreciate the profile of Pierre Sage, former OL coach, free since his departure last winter.

However, Kombouaré’s estimated salary of 200,000 euros per month and his contract until June 2026 could make a possible change of coach complex. The cost of redundancies, estimated at between two and three million euros, is a major economic constraint for a fragile financial institution.

The list of guards appointed for the UNFP trophy

The UNFP unveiled the list of five goaltenders appointed to win the season’s best goaltender trophy. Gianluigi Donnarumma (PSG), Lucas Chevalier (LOSC), Geronimo Rulli (OM), Lucas Perrin (OL) and Dorde Petrovic (Strasbourg) are competing for this award.

** OL players in the race for top player title**

On May 11th, OL players will host Dijon in the First League play-off semifinal. This confrontation will allow Joe Montemurro’s Fenottes to get closer to the only trophy of the season.
