"Marseille on the Boey track: competition with Galatasaray for a loan"

While Roberto De Zerbi is already preparing for the next season with the idea of returning to a four-way defence, Olympique de Marseille is working to strengthen the side posts. In this context, the track leading to Sacha Boey could face serious competition. At the age of 24, Sacha Boey was trained at Stade Rennais before winning in Galatasaray between 2021 and 2024. Transferred to Bayern Munich in January 2024, the French defender experienced contrasting beginnings in Germany, held back by meniscus injuries. He just got back to the competition after two months of absence.

During its recovery, the Bayern continued to follow the good results in the Bundesliga, partly thanks to the good performances of Raphaรซl Guerreiro, repositioned in the right corridor. A transfer this summer would be envisaged by the German club during winter mercato 2025. But OM isn’t alone on this case…

Already mentioned last December in the columns of L’ร‰quipe, OM monitors the track leading to Boey. The club sees him as an interesting profile: “a French player, who knows Ligue 1 and whose eventual arrival would be negotiated in the form of a loan”. However, Bayern is not alone in this case. According to Sky Germany’s journalist Florian Plettenberg, “Sacha Boey remains one of the main candidates for a sale at FC Bayern this summer. His market is under study. Galatasaray closely monitors his situation, but nothing is concrete at this point. His contract ran until 2028.”

At this stage, no direct contact has been established between OM and Bayern Munich, but sports advisor Medhi Benatia, a former player of the Bavarian club, could facilitate exchanges in due course. Meanwhile, the Phocรฉan club continues to evaluate its options with a view to strengthening its defensive corridors.
