On Tuesday 1 July, the ASSE reserve group resumed training, under the leadership of Sylvain Gibert and his team. This preparation phase is crucial to assess the workforce for the coming season, which is very young. The first test of this pre-season took place against Blois, a team also operating in National 3. The match tested different team compositions, with a start XI and a second period XI, including players on the test.
The game started hard for the Greens, who conceded the first goal due to an error of clearance on a center from the left. However, the team reacted quickly, with a free kick from Yanis Mimoun who found the skylight, restoring equality after a quarter of an hour. Blois then regained the advantage before half-time. In the second period, a centre-tir from Depalle, following a corner played with Ben Tiba, allowed ASSE to equalize at 2-2, marking the final score of the match.
The friendly match schedule will be busy and demanding for the Stéphanois reserve. The next opponents will be Blois on 12 July in Domérat, then Auxerre on 23 July in Dompiègne. These meetings against experienced teams are essential to observe the progress of the group and refine tactical settings. The preparations will continue with matches against Andrélieux-Bouthéon on 26 July, then Soccaux on 12 August, before concluding a match against Grenoble on 16 August in Firminy, before the start of the official competition.
