The new AS Saint-Étienne home jersey is more than just a tribute to the history of the club. It embodies a responsible transformation approach, the result of a close collaboration between Hummel and the club. This initiative is part of a global environmental policy, which now extends to all outfits, as explained by Michaël Didier, marketing manager of Hummel France. This eco-responsible approach is an extension of the “Green the Future” project of ASSE, which aims to reconcile sports performance, social responsibility and territorial pride. The 2025-2026 season confirms this desire, highlighting the pillars of local heritage through pictograms printed on both sides of the jersey.
The design of the 2025-2026 jersey is particularly remarkable. After paying tribute to the seven Stéphanois hills the previous season, he honoured important symbols of the city, such as the mine, the renderie, the railway station, the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium and transportation. These symbols, represented as pictograms, bear witness to the know-how and history of the territory. The white sleeves, a striking novelty, are decorated with architectural motifs inspired by La Platinum, an emblematic building of the Cité du Design. Stylist Léa Bourgier, a native of Saint-Étienne and regular collaborator of the club, has brought her artistic sensitivity to this design, drawing on the 13th Biennial of Design to enrich the creation of visual meanings and symbols.
Beyond its ecological and symbolic aspect, this jersey demonstrates the strong identity of ASSE and its attachment to its supporters. Despite its presence in Ligue 2, the club remains a leader in the sale of jerseys in France, with 26,000 units sold during the 2024-2025 season. The home jersey represents 66% of these sales, highlighting the fans’ attachment to the club’s colours. It is an eco-friendly jersey, rich in symbols and deeply rooted in the identity of Stéphanois. It is seen as a reflection of ASSE’s ambition to build a sustainable and popular future, and could well accompany the Greens in their quest to return to League 1, while giving pride to its bearers.
