Rayan Cherki: A wonder in the midst of an ascent, despite the failure at Old Trafford
Manchester – England discovered an exceptional player, Rayan Cherki, during a double confrontation with the Manchester United. Despite the failure to win the game in quarterfinals, the young striker of Olympique Lyonnais confirmed his ascending form, thanks in particular to a decisive goal during the prolongation of the game go.
Rayan Cherki, OL’s number 18, led Old Trafford in the first half of the extension. His coach praised his “exceptional look” and his ability to make quick decisions, calling him “a different player, a free player, almost wild”.
“I think Rayan sees things that others don’t see,” said the coach, highlighting his impressive stats, with now 12 goals and 18 assists since the start of the season. He is considered one of the most decisive young players in Europe.
This performance is all the more remarkable as Cherki has had complicated beginnings, linked to an initially failing collective. He managed to overcome these difficulties and got closer to comparing with international players, notably Mesut Özil.
The international Espoirs is getting even closer, and its potential could well propel it into a big European club next summer. He also enjoys a beautiful complicity with his youngest, Alexandre Lacazette, who takes advantage of Cherki’s caviar. Although Lacazette was able to increase her stats, as in Auxerre last weekend, Rayan Cherki really illuminates the evenings.
