OL qualification Ligue 1 summer preparation and friendly matches

Since July 7, the Lyon team has resumed training in Décines, in a period of uncertainty due to the decision of the DNACG. Two days later, with the official announcement of OL’s accession to Ligue 1 for the 2025-2026 season, this was a major relief for the fans and a serenity factor for the Paulo Fonseca team. This qualification allowed the club to focus on planning its summer mercato and its preparation for the new season.

The Lyon workforce already has much of its pre-season schedule. The first game of this phase will take place on Saturday 19 July at 10.30 a.m., with a face-to-face against FC Villefranche-Beaujolais (National 1) at the Groupama OL Training Center. Then, the team will face the RWDM Brussels on Wednesday, July 23, again in Decines. A trip to Germany against Hamburg SV is also scheduled on Saturday 26 July at 3 p.m.

After this first phase of preparation, OL will travel to Austria for an internship from 26 July to 2 August. This internship will include two friendly games, one against RC Deportivo Mallorca on Wednesday, July 30 at 5:30 p.m. Summer preparation will end on the weekend of August 9, one week from the start of the championship. The team will open the season on the way to Lens.
