Uncertain future of key players at GMP and new recruitment paths

While PSG’s key players enjoy their summer vacation, several players returning from loan were seen this Wednesday at PSG Campus in Poissy. Among them are Milan Skriniar, Marco Asensio, Renato Sanches and Nordi Mukiele, all waiting for a new loan or transfer. The future of some is uncertain, such as Ilyes Housni whose loan to Le Havre was not conclusive, or Renato Sanches, whose attempt to extend Benfica failed. Nordi Mukiele and Carlos Soler, also coming back from loan, will have to find a new club outside the capital. The PSG, for its part, seems to target young talent in the transfer market, notably Rodrygo, wingman of Real Madrid, whose arrival is closely monitored despite competition from other European clubs.

The Parisian club is also actively involved in movements of less mediated players. Michel Denisot, emblematic figure of the PSG in the 1990s, announced the imminent transfer of Lucas Lavalée, young goaltender, to La Beerrichonne de Châteauroux. These developments take place in a context where José Mourinho, Portuguese coach, praised the PSG as the great winner of the European season, highlighting their ability to overcome the loss of key players like Kylian Mbappé, a parallel to his own success with Inter Milan in 2010. Mourinho also expressed his admiration for the Portuguese terrain of PSG, João Neves and Vitinha.

Renato Sanches is back at Campus PSG after a brilliant loan in Benfica Lisbon, but his future remains uncertain. Despite the opening of the MTP to a departure in the form of a transfer or loan, no concrete offer has yet materialised. The profile of Sanches, considered talented but irregular and physically fragile, is no longer among Luis Enrique’s priorities. Its departure may depend on market opportunities, its injuries or last minutes, but a reversal seems unlikely.
