New ASS strategy focused on analysis and recruitment

Since taking the lead in AS Saint-Étienne, Kilmer Sports Ventures, the Canadian club-owner, has favoured an in-depth analysis phase. After years of sometimes contested management, the primary objective was to diagnose the club’s structural weaknesses through comprehensive audits of training, medical, technical staff and recruitment. This period of reflection ended with the entry into force of a new action-oriented strategy, resulting in strong decisions on all fronts.

Recruitment is one of the priorities of this new phase. Loïc Perrin was tasked with piloting the recruitment unit, reinforced by the arrival of Alexandre Lousberg, a young trilingual coordinator from the Standard of Liège. His expertise in data and process modernization, coupled with his training in sport law and his Statsbomb certification, aims to provide a more analytical view of the market, to structure the selection criteria and to target the profiles corresponding to the club’s project. At the same time, particular attention is paid to physical performance, an area where ASSE had significant delays.

The arrival of Eirik Horneland and his Norwegian technical team led to a complete overhaul of the physical staff. David Tivey and CaLum Daley, two experienced preparers from England, complete the team, bringing their expertise in individual preparation, injury prevention and peak management. The appointment of Donough Holohan as Director of Performance, after 13 years in Manchester City, marks a major turning point. Its methodology focused on resilience, data analysis and human interaction is a guarantee of seriousness and modernity for ASSE, which finally aims to build a clear and ambitious strategy for the future.
