Lyon strengthens its team and Sage trains Lens

Olympique Lyonnais is committed to the transfer of Domiik Greif, goaltender of the RC Deportivo de Mallorca, to replace Lucas Perri. After tense negotiations with the Spanish club, Lyon finally agreed to pay four million euros plus bonuses to take over the services of the 28-year-old player. This recruit is seen as an important reinforcement for the guard position, bringing experience and strength to the team. Greif’s arrival is all the more expected as OL has already made significant transfers and aims to secure this post after Perri’s departure.

At the same time, Olympique Lyonnais decided not to sell Georges Mikautadze, considered a key player for the offensive future of the club, especially after Alexandre Lacazette’s departure. Despite offers received, the club chose to retain the Georgian striker, who had achieved a solid season with 17 goals and 11 assists. OL, faced with financial constraints as a result of past mismanagement, nevertheless sought to strengthen their workforce and might consider selling other players to balance their finances.

Finally, French coach Pierre Sage was appointed to lead Lens, where he will have under his command Florian Thauvin, an offensive player who has signed a three-year contract. This appointment marks an interesting return for Sage, who had already successfully trained Lens. For his part, Nemanja Matic, midfielder of OL, was absent during the last friendly matches, raising questions about his future at the club. His absence was noticed in Serbia, where he visited his former club, Partizan Belgrade. Matic’s future remains uncertain, and it should be put on sale before the start of the season.
