ASSE finally wins its first derby after six years

The ASSE won its first derby last Saturday in nearly six years. A meeting that saw the Greens show a very different face than the last few weeks. Florian Tardieu, middle of the ASSE, said on the margins of the meeting: “This victory is enormous for all of us. For some, it was even their first derby. It’s an incredible feeling to see that fervour around the game. We really took that energy with us during the training and we felt it completely when the players entered the field.”

Florian Tardieu also stressed the importance of the first half in this victory: “We had already made a big start against Paris, and today it was similar. We knew that by putting a lot of intensity, we were going to take everyone with us. And we scored.”

However, Florian Tardieu remains lucid about the current situation of the ASSE: “This is not an end in itself. We can celebrate this victory tonight and recover tomorrow, but there are still important games to play. It was a big game, we really wanted to win it, because a derby wins, it’s not playing. But we must continue to work hard to hope to maintain ourselves.”

Game facts turned in favour of ASSE during this meeting, but Florian Tardieu points out that it is above all thanks to a solid collective performance: “The facts of the game turned in our favor, it feels good, we’re not gonna complain about it. But even without that, I think we had a big game.”
