Nicolas de Tavernost appointed Managing Director of LFP Media

The board of directors of the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP), including Olivier Létang, president of the LOSC, formalized on Wednesday the appointment of Nicolas de Tavernost as general manager of LFP Media. After weeks of discussions and speculation about this appointment, the board of directors finally validated the arrival of Nicolas de Tavernost (74 years old), former boss of M6 and advisor to CMA Media, who holds the RMC and BFM brands. He succeeded Benjamin Morel, who had been criticized by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, president of Paris Saint-Germain, at meetings between French football leaders.

Nicolas de Tavernost takes up his duties in a difficult context for French football, especially because of the TV rights crisis. The LFP is assigned to justice by DAZN, its broadcaster, and it will be up to DAZN to find alternatives to this complex situation. If League 1 is still mentioned, it would not be the priority of the new Director General, who wishes to explore all possibilities to resolve this conflict.

His arrival, however, has already had a positive effect with the historical broadcaster of the French championship, Canal+, who seems ready to discuss again. A door could therefore enter with this important partner for the future of French football.
