Camara: Montpellier keeps its philosophy against Marseille

Camara remains faithful to her project against OM

On approaching the shock against the Olympique de Marseille at the Vélodrome, Montpellier Rugby’s coach, Zumana Camara, insisted on his team’s willingness to retain its gaming identity, while recognizing the formidable ability of OM.

In a press conference, Camara stated that he intended to anchor his game system until the end of the season, unless he was physically constrained. He aims to maintain consistency to allow his team to assimilate tactical automation.

Aware of the intensity that OM is likely to deploy at home, Camara tempered expectations, admitting that it was not about aiming for total control of the game. “We have to have this philosophy and intentions in the moments when we have the ball to get a result,” he said.

At the same time, Roberto De Zerbia, the OM coach, spoke about the difficulties his team faced. After five defeats in the last seven games, he highlighted the mentality problem as an explanatory factor for the disparities between the two half-times. He also highlighted the physical absences and difficulties encountered by some players. He mentioned measures taken, such as temporary suspension of training, to increase tension.
