Luis Enrique Proven Nuno Mendes, “PSG Hunting Aircraft”
Luis Enrique recently expressed his admiration for Nuno Mendes, side of Paris Saint-Germain, calling the young player “hunting plane” both in attack and in defense. The Parisian coach stressed Nuno Mendes’ exceptional state of mind and professionalism, stressing his ability to achieve a constant level of performance, even in difficult situations.
“I think Nuno Mendes is a fighter plane, both in attack and in defense,” said Luis Enrique, adding that he particularly liked players with this mentality, always ready to give the best of themselves, 100%. The coach acknowledged that Nuno Mendes, despite some shortcomings due to his ambition, is a unique player, able to score, make the last pass and defend against the best players in the world.
This assessment was made despite Luis Enrique’s observations concerning Nuno Mendes’ desire to always give the maximum, which can occasionally lead to mistakes. The coach also mentioned his own negative experience against the young player at a League of Nations meeting between Spain and Portugal.
Intense calendar for Parisians
The Paris Saint-Germain calendar is particularly busy right now. After winning in Ligue 1, the Parisians will have to face Strasbourg on 4 May, between their two semifinals in the Champions League against Arsenal. The PSG will also travel to Nantes this Tuesday to catch up on Day 29 of Ligue 1.
Luis Enrique announced that the PSG would work in particular on the corners and free kicks to prepare the match against Arsenal. He pointed out that the team would prepare in a similar manner to that used against Liverpool.
Nuno Mendes, despite his exceptional qualities, remains a developing player, and his coach is aware of the importance of balance between ambition and realism.
