Yassine Benzia, who had been exiled to Azerbaijan for two years after leaving Dijon, won a second National Champion title with Qarabag FK. Appointed for the Puskas Award for the most beautiful goal of the year in the previous year, although he did not win it, Yassine Benzia is a great player in Azerbaijan where he recently lived very short nights. Indisputable holder at the Qarabag FK with 45 appearances (2956 minutes), 11 goals and 10 assists, he contributed greatly to the good season of his club which won the title of National Champion for the twelfth time this Sunday 27 April. This success was the third for the Algerian international since its arrival in January 2023 and the fourth consecutive victory for the Qarabag FK. The season is still not over in Azerbaijan with the last four days to play, but Yassine Benzia & Co already have a third point lead over their dolphin (Zira, 2nd, 64 pts). They can thus hope to get another title with the Azerbaijan Cup final which will take place on 31 May (17h) against Sabah Baku at Mehdi Huseynzade Stadium in Sumqayit.
