Olympique Lyonnais began its summer preparation for the 2025-2026 season, with the major challenge of the outcome of the review of its file by the DNACG Appeal Board. This decision will have a decisive impact on the future of the club and on the planning of coach Paulo Fonseca. The team and the entire organization are waiting for the decision, expected Thursday night, which led to the temporary suspension of certain events related to the summer preparation. Currently, OL has only confirmed two friendly matches, which will be held in camera at the Dรฉcines site.
The friendly match schedule is as follows: On 19 July, OL will host its partner in Villefranche-sur-Saรดne, the GOLT C, at 10.30 a.m., without a public. A similar meeting will take place a few days later against the Daring Brussels (formerly RWDmolenbeek) on 23 July, also in camera. This choice to play without supporters could be a source of criticism, as it is uncertain whether there will be another opportunity to play a friendly game before the start of the Ligue 1 season against FC Metz on the weekend of August 23.
Pending the decision of the Appeal Board, other friendly games are planned, potentially in Austria, as in the previous season. OL plans to return to Innsbruck for their summer internship from 27 July to 2 August. This internship is a tradition for the club, offering a privileged training setting before the start of the official competition. The outcome of the DNACG review will determine whether the club will be able to maintain this program and continue its summer preparation in the best conditions.
