Rayan Cherki beats OL's record for decisive passes

Rayan Cherki, the king of OL’s decisive passes

The star player of the OL season is without a doubt Rayan Cherki. During the match against Rennes this Saturday, the midfielder once again made his quality known by offering Georges Mikautadze his 19th decisive pass of the season, allowing him to become the best smuggler in the club’s history ahead of Serge Chiesa. He held the record for two consecutive seasons (1972-1973 and 1971-1972) with 18 and 17 assists respectively.

Rayan Cherki is not in her first exploit this season. With 27 decisive balloons in three years, he dangerously approached Memphis Depay (39) and Nabil Fekir (30). However, its probable departure this summer could prevent OL from reaching the 40-pass mark. For now, the young player is tied up with Bradley Barcola in the championship this year with 10 key passes.

The future of Geïda Fofana

Gueïda Fofana, the OL reserve coach, finds herself in the expectation of her future. His contract with OL ends in June and he is not yet sure whether he will stay in the club or join another team. Meanwhile, his assistant Pierre Chavrondier took over the team. Unfortunately, he failed to get the D1 promotion with the RWD Molenbeek despite a 3-2 success on the way back (defect 2-0 on the way).

The French Football Federation announced that Gueïda Fofana could spend its BEPF this season. He joined a list of ten technicians admitted to join the Professional Football Coaching Patent in 2025-2026. Candidates will have to alternate between modules at CNF Clairefontaine and immersion in professional clubs.

OL wins a big success against Rennes

OL easily won the match against Rennes last Saturday with a score of 4-1. On the stage of the show “As long as there will be Gones”, two high-level athletes in combat sports, Yanis Ghemmouri (combatant MMA in PFL) and Adam Messaoudi (professional boxer), commented on this victory with consultants Nicolas Puydebois and Enzo Reale. In particular, they welcomed the return of Corentin Tolisso after two difficult trips.

Finally, the last part of the show was devoted to the race at the Champions League for OL. The guests and consultants have all agreed that this struggle will be exciting with OL as their lead actor.
