"OL: Cherki, Mikautadze and Lacazette, trained scorers who make the difference"

Olympique Lyonnais (OL) has always been a source of talent from the Rhône-Alpes region. Many players who grew up between Rhône and Saône managed to break through at the highest level, such as Castello Lukeba (RB Leipzig), Malo Gusto (Chelsea) and Bradley Barcola (PSG). This season, Rayan Cherki (8 goals, 9 assists), Georges Mikautadze (9 goals, 6 assists) and Alexandre Lacazette (12 goals, 2 assists) are OL’s most decisive players in Ligue 1. These three players represent different generations but have all contributed to the club’s success.

After Karim Benzema, Alexandre Lacazette took over the torch in terms of OL trained scorers. In particular, it has enabled the club to reach the figure of 476 goals scored by players trained in the club since the beginning of the 21st century, with a total personal of 158 goals, or about a third.

This Saturday (26/04, 21:05), Stade Rennais will be at Parc OL. Warmed Omari, trained in Rennes and currently loaned to OL, is a symbol of the quality of the Rennes training centre that has seen many of its nuggets hatch, such as Ousmane Dembélé (PSG), Eduardo Camavinga (Real Madrid) or Désiré Doué (PSG). These players have now taken a completely different dimension away from Roazhon Park.

Habib Beye arrives in Décines with other young players trained in the club, such as Adrien Truffert, the captain and leader of his locker room, or Mohamed Meite, 17, who scored during the derby against Nantes last week. The young Breton player Djaoui Cissé has also impressed since the beginning of February by following the convincing midfield titles and performances with Azor Matusiwa and Seko Fofana.

OL will have to pay attention to this trio during the game against Stade Rennais this Saturday if they want to return to the path of success.
