Serious injury: Ernest Nuamah operated and absent until end of season

Following an injury to the left knee’s anterior cross ligament that occurred during a confrontation with LOSC two weeks ago, Ernest Nuamah successfully underwent surgery this Tuesday in Lyon. This injury, unfortunately, clearly interrupted the fulcruming ascent of the young Ghanaian attacker, whose promising talent had considerably strengthened the Lyon team. The absence of this key element until the end of the season is a significant setback for Olympique Lyonnais, faced with a crucial period of competition.

Olympique Lyonnais will now have to be very strong and rely on the performance of its other offensive players in order to realize its European ambitions. Although Malick Fofana’s return is expected for the Europa League’s quarter-final return, Ernest Nuamah’s unavailability represents a major obstacle in the quest for a qualification for the Champions League. His rehabilitation will begin on Wednesday in the Ain, after his morning operation at the Jean-Mermoz private hospital under the supervision of Dr. Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet.

The next game, of crucial importance, will take place in Old Trafford, where the Gones will have to rely on players such as George Mikautadze and Rayan Cherki, as was the case during the recent meeting against Auxerre, in order to overcome this event and preserve their hopes of success.
