Stade Rennais confronts Lyon : Injuries, summons and stats

Stade Rennais will face Olympique Lyonnais this Saturday on the 31st day of Ligue 1. Habib Beye selected a group of 21 players for this game at the Groupama Stadium, arbitrated by Mr. Bollengier. Alidu Seidu and Ayanda Sishuba are still injured, while Mahamadou Nagida, Mikayil Faye and Kyogo Furuhashi are not summoned. Gauthier Gallon, Steve Mandanda, Brice Samba, Lorenz Assignon, Hans Hateboer, Anthony Rouault, Jérémy Jacquet, Lilian Brassier, Christopher Wooh, Adrien Truffert, Azor Matusiwa, Djaoui Cissé, Seko Fofana, Jordan James, Ludovic Blas, Ismaël Koné, Andrés Gomez, Arnaud Kalimuendo, Kader Meïté, Kazeem Olaigbe and Mousa Al-Tamari will compose the Rennes band.

Rayan Cherki and Georges Mikautadze are among the ten players most involved in the European top 5 since the beginning of February. Together, they scored 31 goals and assists, while OL scored 41 goals over the same period. The Lyon results therefore depend on the shape of these two players trained at the club, as evidenced by their match against Saint-Etienne last Sunday (2-1). For the first time since Paulo Fonseca’s debut in Marseilles on February 2, OL scored only one goal in a game. However, under Fonseca’s command, the Lyons managed to score at least two goals in each of their previous games. They will become the second best attack in the championship since their trip to Marseille (28 goals). OL will return to OL Park for the first time since 10 April and will try to win their fourth consecutive home game to maintain the hope of qualifying in the Champions League.
