Donnarumma to Manchester City a complex negotiation under way

Giampiero Donnarumma, Paris Saint-Germain goaltender, is on the way to leaving the club at the end of the 2025-2026 season. His contract expired in June 2026, the Parisian leaders seem willing to let him leave during the summer mercato. Replaced by the young Lucas Chevalier, the 26-year-old Italian international goaltender with 74 selections, would already be close to an agreement with Manchester City. The negotiations are complicated, however, because the English club is in a position of strength and wants to arrange the player for a reasonable sum.

Manchester City has several opportunities to finalize Donnarumma’s arrival: this summer, during the winter mercato, or next summer, with the possibility of a departure at the end of the contract. This situation puts Paris Saint-Germain under pressure, especially since a close friend of the player told L’ร‰quipe that he would be willing to stay until January if he did not find a club sufficiently attractive.

Although Donnarumma still favors an immediate departure, he would not like to let the PSG leave without compensation. He could therefore consider staying at the club for another six months before joining Manchester City at the end of the season. The situation is therefore tense and the outcome of this case will depend on negotiations between the three stakeholders.
