DAZN leaves League 1 for a dedicated channel

DAZN will no longer broadcast Ligue 1 from next season. The LFP and the Ligue 1 presidents decided to stop working with DAZN and find a solution for this summer. The British broadcaster finally accepted the conditions for disengagement, paying an allowance of EUR 100 million to stop the contract at the end of this season and paying the last two deadlines of the current financial year for a total of EUR 140 million. However, DAZN wants to participate in the creation of the 100% Ligue 1 channel that the LFP wants to launch with Vincent Labrune, by investing a hundred million euros for this channel.

OL’s (1-4) defeat against Arsenal in the Champions League semifinal was difficult to digest for Vincent Ponsot, the team’s general manager. Despite this disappointment, he received the trophy of “Team of the Year 2024” at the general assembly of the Rhรดne-Alpes section of the UJSFRA. The almost number 1 goal of the Fenottes flew after a non-game at home, but this trophy is recognition of the work done over the years. Women’s OL now have to raise their heads with the quest for an 18th French champion. There is still a regular season match against Le Havre on Wednesday, May 7th (17h) in Bourgoin before the semifinal of play-offs against Dijon on Sunday, May 11th, which would open the door to the final at Parc OL.
