Karol Fila, the former right-hand side of the Racing Club in Straßbourg, who moved to Dender in Belgium between 2021 and 2024, announced his return to Poland. The 27-year-old, born in Poland, joined KS Wieczysta Krakow, a newly promoted club in the second Polish division, for a two-year period. This decision marks a return to the sources for Fila, who had originally left his native country to pursue his sports career in France and Belgium.
Karol Fila’s career began in Lechia Gdańsk, his training club, before leading him to Straßbourg in 2021. During his four seasons with Racing, he played 20 official games, 19 of which were in Ligue 1, although he sometimes had difficulty getting regular play time. Faced with this lack of opportunities, he was loaned to Zulte Waregem in Belgium during the 2022/2023 season, before finally settling in Dender last season.
This return to Poland represents a new chapter in Karol Fila’s career, which aspires to regain an important role in his home club. After having had various experiences in France and Belgium, he returned to his homelands after having lived a remarkable period with the Racing Club in Straßbourg. The commitment with the KS Wieczysta Krakow demonstrates his willingness to rebuild and contribute to the development of an uphill club.
