ASSE evaluates its workforce for the coming season of crucial choices

ASSE began its summer preparation with four friendly games, providing an overview of its strategy for the 2025-2026 season. This period allowed coach Eirik Horneland to assess the potential of his players and start defining a hard core. Maxime Bernauer has distinguished himself as the most used player, closely followed by Flo Tardieu, Irvin Cardona, Mahmoud Jaber and Gautier Larsonneur, who already seem to have a solid base. Ben Old’s notable presence, with two decisive passes, reinforces the idea of a desire to build a balanced team capable of defensive strength and offensive dynamism.

However, the preparation was not without shade zones. Some players, despite their potential, had limited play time, raising questions about their future role in the club. Zuriko Davitashvili, Lucas Staasnin and Pierre Ekwah, considered key elements for the future, lacked minutes, which is particularly worrying. Although Augustine Boakye and Igor Milaidinovic had opportunities, their performance remains uncertain and they will have to be more efficient to win.

Game time also reveals clear sporting choices. Yvann Mason and Dylan Batubinsika, regular holders last season, had very little time playing during this preparation, suggesting a possible willingness of the staff to see them leave the club. Unless there is a change in situation, these two players could look for new opportunities before the end of the mercato. The preparation is therefore a key moment to refine the group and prepare as best as possible for the coming season, with tracks already drawn concerning the composition of the team.
