Paris Saint-Germain plans to strengthen its midfield with an experienced and high-level player, despite the recent defeat in the final of the World Cup of Clubs against Chelsea. This ambition came after a long and ultimately disappointing 2024-2025 season. The club management wants to bring experience and an additional solution to coach Luis Enrique, while seeking to compete with current players such as Vitinha, João Neves and Fabian Ruiz. The standard team of the 2025 World Cup, unveiled by FIFA, includes three Parisian players: Ashraf Hakimi, Marquinhos and Vitinha, while Chelsea has four.
Coach Luis Enrique doesn’t seem concerned about the defeat against Chelsea, considering her an opportunity for improvement for his team. He highlighted Chelsea’s intensity and tactics as determining factors for English victory, but remained confident in his ability to prepare for the next games. He rejects the idea of “losing”, insisting on the importance of persevering and learning from his mistakes. Despite disappointment, Enrique assumed his philosophy and said he was surrounded by faithful people.
In addition, the young Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Moscardo should leave the PSG by loan, with the SC Braga as claiming the most serious. This choice is facilitated by the links between the Portuguese club and Qatar Sports Investments, owner of the PSG. Marquinhos, captain of the PSG, praised the entire season made by the club, marked by a League of Champions and National Titles title, while expressing his gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support. He sees this season as a turning point, not only in sports, but also in emotional and human terms, stressing the stronger link with fans and the increased global recognition of the club.
